The number of lawyers in Florida has risen by more than 50% since 2000, according to a study by the Florida Bar Association, while the number of law schools has climbed by five. This fast growth has resulted in an overabundance of lawyers. Some have expressed dissatisfaction with the work market, claiming that the benefits of their trade have decreased. Criminal defence lawyers, particularly single practitioners, are in limited supply throughout the state. Every year, more than 3,000 lawyers graduate from the state's law schools. As a consequence of the overabundance of attorneys, it's difficult for fresh graduates to obtain work, even after graduation.
